Welcome, friends!
It has been my joy for over 30 years to teach eager learners how to play instruments and sing. Beyond how to play, however, the goal has always been to raise up and equip worshippers with more tools and skills to the benefit of their own connection with the Lord as well as to offer those skills to their communities.
And you are here because you want to learn and create!
This course is going to take you from not knowing anything about the piano, to knowing the basic patterns to find scales (I’ll explain that in lesson 2), major and minor chords (lesson 4), and how to move between chords so that melodies can be sung overtop of chords (lesson 5). After most of the lessons, there is Scripture and space for you to write your own song ideas, melodies, lyrics, etc. The goal is to create– your own melodies, structures, and songs.
This first module will forever be FREE, because I just want to equip as many people as possible!
Each video lesson is accompanied by a section in the workbook. The workbook takes each topic a little farther, giving space to practice finding the notes and patterns to help the concepts sink in. I recommend downloading the workbook and possibly printing it out, or using a tool to write on your ipad. You can even hand-copy onto a notebook, if that is more helpful.
